Career in Freelance Writing

As a freelance writer you will be working for yourself trying to sell your pieces to different magazines, newspapers or by writing your own books. Freelancers are not employed by anyone employer. The works of a freelance writer can be fiction, non-fiction, journalism or another variety of writing.

Freelance writers will usually have a background in English or journalism. Many freelance writers have attended a university and have bachelor's degrees in English or journalism. They will need skills in writing (creative, descriptive or reportive). Interests should include writing, working with deadlines, working in a fast paced field, working by yourself and being your own boss.

Some freelance writers can make a great deal of money by selling their writing. The salary range is quite large as some freelance writers only write on a part time basis.
