Career as a Clown
Clowns are entertainers who provide comic relief to audiences. Typically a clown will perform at a circus or birthday party acting zany and crazy while dressed in colorful oversized outfits wearing makeup. Clowns are comedic performers who usually entertain children, in circuses they will be used to act as a bridge between performances. Clowns work in a variety of locales including circuses, parties, theatres, clubs, rodeos and street performances. Typically they will have attended a training facility or are self-taught. Being a clown does not require any formal training or certification. There are typically three different types of clowns in the profession, Auguste, Whiteface and Tramp. A clown will mostly work with children and if they chose to work with a circus they will have to travel often. Many clowns enter this profession on a part time basis only. The work is not dangerous and very stress free.
