Typical Work
The Advertising field is a fast paced work environment where deadlines need to be met and creativity is key. Promoting a product, good, service, or message is the main task in an advertising job. Doing this in a creative fashion that gets the purpose of the ad to the viewer is important. People in the advertising industry are sometimes also involved in sales as well. Typically Advertisers will work for Ad Agencies, Large Companies Advertising departments, non-profit organizations, Marketing Firms, Marketing Consultants.

Necessary Education
Typically a person in the advertising field will have obtained a bachelor's degree in business, graphic design, or a college equivalent. The Education background can be business based, therefore giving insight into market research, consumer demands, reach, frequency of the ad or if it is in design it is more aimed at the creative aspect of creating and designing advertisements.

How to get started, skills and interests you'll need
To get started in a career in advertising the best start is to obtain a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (see above) then to obtain a job at an advertising agency or with the marketing department of a large company (to gain experience).
